These two issues see the return of one of Spidey’s most iconic villains and sets the stage for some much of the Venom-ness that would permeate the rest of the 90s. For these two issues, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. So I brought in the only man for the job, a man who had a letter printed in a Spider-Man comic about how amazing Venom was: Siskoid. So let’s see how the symbiotic villain fares this time around, now that he’s not being saddled alongside Carnage.

Venom comes face to face with the only thing more terrifying than himself.

So tell us Eddie, who are you wearing?
Finally, a reminder that the podcast theme song is by Erica Driesbach, and you can find more of her work at her website right here.
Great episode as always! Siskoid did a yeoman’s job providing context and substance for the Spider-Man-Venom relationship, and actually made me re-evaluate what Venom means to the world of Spider-Man (although Furn gets the assist, based on the Lonely Hearts episode you guys referred to).
I haven’t read these issue, but it’s nice seeing Mark Bagley’s art in the scan you provided. I can definitely see the artist the would go on to define Ultimate Spider-Man for over one-hundred issues a decade after these stories.
