Episode 13: Nomad #1

It’s time to start working through my pile of non-Spider-Man and non-X-Men related Marvel titles. It’s an eclectic mix, comprised largely of #1 issues I bought because I thought #1’s were important because I was a kid and allowed to be dumb with small amounts of money. So on that note I take a look at a harsher and grittier look at Marvel’s America with the man known as Nomad!

Listen to Episode 12: Wolverine # 50.

The man so jaded, he’ll shoot his own logo.

Good luck trying to figure out how many fingers are on this guy’s left hand.

The sunglasses are on… NOW it’s serious.

“You’re a scruffy looking drifter, staying at the worst hotel in town and carrying around a baby that looks nothing like you… care to dive into my cleavage?”

I’ll just point out that he’s leaving a crying baby with somebody he doesn’t know while he goes off to break into a building in the middle of the night… while wearing sunglasses.

Episode 12: Wolverine #50

Generally I try to avoid doing the same kind of comic back to back (X-Men related in this case,) but between Deadpool coming out this month and this episode’s guest, burlesque supervillain Alexa Luthor, having a February show to plug this just kind of happened this way. Not a loss though, because Alexa got to come in and talk about everybody’s favorite vertically challenged Canadian!

Why knock on the door when you can crash through the window?

Scan_Pic0016

What’s more distracting: Wolverine’s eyes being right at the secretary’s chest lever or the bald “professor” who ISN’T Xavier?

The solution to every problem is claws!

Scan_Pic0044

See? Claws fix it all.

90s Comics Advertising: Stri-dex

Stridex

If I had that comic, I’d be reviewing it.

If you were in the throws of puberty during the 1990s then odds are you fell in for Stri-Dex pads and their zit fighting powers… which in reality were pretty much non-existent, which is why you can’t get the things anymore. At least we have advertisements like these still hanging around, like a stubborn blackhead.
