  1. I’m pretty sure I met Darkhawk on a Marvel Universe trading card. He promptly became my favorite character because he was a DARK hawk. A dark HAWK. DARKHAWK. Aww yeah!!!

Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever read one of this guy’s comics. But now that you’ve acquitted this issue I know what to get for you the next time I’m rummaging through the cheap* bins.

    * Alan Middleton’s a liar. There are NO quarter bins left in America.

  2. I remember Darkhawk EXISTING, but I’m pretty sure I was always mistaking him for NIght-Thrasher. On Avengers Arena, a hard pass on the Battle Royale/Hunger Games rip-off, especially as it killed and replaced the superlative Avengers Academy and put its best characters in danger or in the grave.

A note about Romita Jr.: I really don’t like his contemporary work. It seems too heavy to me now, and perhaps it’s a matter of the modern coloring. His best work was in the 80s on Uncanny X-Men and Daredevil, by far.
